you are given solution A and B . the ph of solution A is 6 and ph of solution B is 8.(1)which solution has more hydrogen ion concentration? give reason for your answer.

1) solution a has more hydrogen ion concentration as it is more acidic in nature , as we move down in  the ph. values the more acidic the substance is the more hydrogen ions are present in it

The pH value of the solutions are:

A-6

B-8

Solutions having pH value less than that of 7 are ACIDIC in nature. Therefore, Solution A is acidic in nature.

Solutions having pH value greater than 7 are BASIC in nature. Therefore, Solution B is basic in nature.

pH is defined as the negative logarithm of hydrogen ion concentration in moles per litre.

pH is inversely proportional to hydrogen ion concentration.

Greater the pH value,lower the hydrogen ion concentration.

Therefore, Solution A has more hydrogen ion concentration than B.
