You are given two identical metal rods out of which one is a magnet and the other is an iron rod how will you identify which one is the magnet and which one is the rod.
( Hint : Attraction at the middle of the magnet is very less and cannot be felt. )

Pick up one of the rods, and place it in the end of the other. It is seen that attraction takes place. Now, put the end of the first rod right at the middle of the second one. If it attracts normally, the first rod is magnetic. If the magnetic force is weak, the first rod is iron.
