AnswEr:

Sample A will freeze at 0°C.

Reason: If a sample of water boils at 100°C, then the water is reliable and there is no impurity in it. But if a sample of water starts boiling at 102°C, then there must be some impurities present in it. Due to presence of impurities there is some difference between the boiling and freezing point of water.

ExTra conversions of water.

  • Conversion of ice into water is called melting.
  • Conversion of water into ice is called solidification.
  • Conversion of ice into vapour is called sublimation.
  • Conversion of vapour into ice is called Deposition.
  • Conversion of water into vapour is called evaporation.
  • Conversion of vapour into water is called condensation.

Explanation:

Sample 'B' will not freeze at 0°C because it is not pure water. At one atmospheric pressure, the boiling point of pure water is 100°C and the freezing point of pure water is 0°C
