Dear Sahil,

I hope this letter finds you in fine fettle. I am writing this letter to share with an exhilarating experience I had during the summer vacation. My parents enrolled me to a summer survival camp. The objective behind was to make me self-reliant and learn situation management.

This was a unique summer camp far away from the din and crowd of the city. The pleasant and refreshing weather rejuvenated us. I enjoyed camping out and trekking expedition. The trekking along a stream was so wonderful!

While trekking, we at times came so close to the river that we could not resist the temptation of wading into its chilled water. We dared not go farther than the shallow water, as the current in the middle was so strong. The scenic beauty of the surroundings and the refreshing water of the stream just refreshed our body, mind and soul.

I learnt many new things during this expedition. At times, the trekking trail became quite arduous; I really had to focus my mind and body to overcome the obstacles. I learnt to be self-reliant. Sleeping in the sleeping bag in tent in the open, without the comforts and luxuries of home was another challenge. By the evening I got so tired, that sleep came so easily and smoothly. Early in the morning, we were woken up by the chirping of the birds.  I feel each human being must go on such adventurous expeditions to learn lessons in courage, time-management, and self-reliance.  I will always cherish the memories and experience of this summer camp.

Besides these wonderful experiences in the lap of nature, I also learnt dance, creative writing, and public speaking skills also. The food and other facilities at the camp were quite good. That’s all for now. Do come over to my place for a few days; we will have lots of fun. Parnam to dear uncle and aunt.
