Dear Diary,
It was on a Sunday morning and my mother had asked me to go the main market to buy groceries for the house. On the way to the market there is a small lake. It so happened I was on my way to market with my friend Ritika who was also my neighbour, when suddenly I saw someone screaming "somebody jump please jump and save my sister!! I don’t how to swim”. I looked around and saw that a small boy of 4 years old crying inconsolably.
Nobody was around to help the boy nor could the boy being just 4 years old help his sister. I saw the girl in the river almost drowning she was just about 7-8 of her age I told my friend to hold my bag and just jumped into the lake not realising or thinking for a moment what would happen to me. All I was thinking of I must save the girl. Infact I was not even an adept swimmer. I was just good enough.
I swam upto the girl and held her very tightly and pushed her out. When I came out the lake she broke down crying and thanked me profusely. It was not that I was a courageous person, but that moment I do not know how but I did. I was feeling happy that I could manage saving a life. It also taught me that no matter what, if we have the will and decide to do anything one can challenge and conquer any difficulties
Good Night Diary
