Yesterday Ajmer had heavy rains in the afternoon. Due to the heavy rain which lasted to more than two hours, the underground sewages got choked. As a result, the roads were flooded with water. The traffic came to a standstill. There was a huge traffic jam in one of the low-lying areas. A bus got stuck in a water logged area following the rainfall. All 30 passengers were rescued safely.

The local administration has been false claims about the condition of roads constructed last year. But the actual situation is far from satisfactory. The state of roads in the city has worsened over the last couple of years especially after heavy rainfall. It seems that this situation has developed due to improper drainage system and cutting down of trees.

Many people have expressed their concern about poor condition of roads and how the massive rain has affected their daily schedule. It is expected that the government will take constructive measures to prevent such situations in future.
