Answer:

Since it has not been mentioned as to who to address the letter to, I am writing it to the Officials of the Ministry of State Education.

Mr. XYZ

Maharishi Government School,

Begumpet,

Hyderabad.

19 January 2018

The Head of Schools,

Ministry of Education,

Hyderabad,

Telangana.

Subject - Depleting condition of the Government schools

Respected Sir,

I, XYZ, am working as a professor of human studies. I am conducting a study and survey on the literacy rate in the city of Hyderabad for a project. In one of these visits, I happened to visit the Maharishi Government school in Begumpet, Hyderabad.

I express my displeasure and sadly say that the condition of this school seems to be very bad. There were cracks in the building which could quite dangerous to the children and the teaching staff, there were no proper furniture, no lights or fans, no facilities for proper bathrooms. There was just 2 bathrooms, 1 for the children and 1 for the teachers, both of which were filthy.

There is no playground or provision for extra-curricular activities for the children. The open space after the gate is just sand and garbage. Also, the number of students who have been attending the school seems to go down every month as per the attendance sheets. The students who are in the class do not seem to listen to the teacher who is teaching at the top of her voice and she does not intend to discipline them to stay silent. They seem to be oblivious to each other.

Also, there is no provision for drinking water or for eating food during the breaks. The children sit in the open ground on the sand and eat their food.

The vision was heartbreaking. I request to put forward a word for the development of this school and for providing good educational facilities to these children to help them grow into good citizens and productive adults.

Look forward to a positive reply.
