In the modern world, transportation has become an important factor. People either choose public transport or private transport for travelling purpose.  

Here we will highlight on public transport- it's advantages and disadvantages.

If we consider the advantages, public transport is a cheaper mode of transport. It includes buses, trains and metro trains.They are found everywhere. Because of public vehicles, there is less traffic on the road. If more and more people start using public transport, air pollution will be lesser. Moreover within a short time one can reach far away destination.  

There are disadvantages also. These public vehicles are always crowded. Children, senior citizens and sick people find it difficult to travel by train or bus. These public vehicles many times do not drop you at the exact location.  

But overall public transportation is good for all if proper caution is taken.

Public transport has many advantages as well as disadvantages. Let’s have a look at them.

Advantages

Public transport is the backbone of a city. It connects important places to one another. People who can’t afford their own vehicles, can use public transport to travel within the city. It is the cheapest mode of transportation; the government run public transport deploys state-of-the-art buses and metro trains for people to travel. Public transport reduces traffic on roads considerably. It also curbs pollution.  

Disadvantages

Public transport also has a few disadvantages also. It is not readily available. One has to wait for it as it has its own fixed timing of departure and arrival. Another aspect that makes it less agreeable is it is always crowded.  

In conclusion it can be said public transport is both has its own advantages and disadvantages.
