Iron fillings can be separated by using a magnet.
Add the remaining mixture in water.
sand can be separated by sedimentation and decantation followed by filtration. In this process sand is allowed to settle for some time and then poured carefully into another container without disturbing the settled material and then filtered through filter paper
We will now obtain water with ammonium chloride and sodium chloride.
Heat the mixture.
Water will be evaporated.
Ammonium chloride can be separated by sublimation. Sublimation is the process of change of solid directly into gas.
We will obtain sodium chloride now.

Answer:

Step-1: Separate iron filings with the help of a magnet.

Step-2: Sublimation of the remaining mixture separates ammonium chloride when solid directly converts to gaseous vapors.

Step-3: Add water to the remaining mixture, stir and filter out sand by filtration.

Step-4: The filtrate can be evaporated to get back sodium chloride.
