Iron, being more reactive than copper will replace copper from the copper sulphate solution, thereby resulting in the formation of iron sulphate and copper.
Fe + CuSo4 --> FeSo4 + Cu.

the observation is that the blue coloured solution gets changed to fade green colour as iron sulphur is formed and there is deposition of copper on nail as iron is more reactive than copper and iron displaces the copper from its salt solution.
