You are Shyam/Shobha of 88, Jal Vihar, Wazirabad, New Delhi. You are
disturbed by the increasing level of pollution of the river Yamuna.
Household sewage and industrial waste are thrown into the river. Even
leftovers from the religious ceremonies (flowers etc.) are dumped into it. As
a result living beings in the river are dying. Water is not fit for drinking or
even bathing and washing. Write a letter to the editor of a local newspaper
giving your views on the problem in 100 – 150 words.

through the columns of your newspaper I want highlight the growing problem of pollution of the river Yamuna . Yamuna is one of the most popular, important River's of India . in India the river Ganga and Yamuna are known as river of God and mostly everyone respect them.but I am feeling very bad in saying that today the condition of this holy river is not so good the waste product from our houses and factories is dumped into the river due to which the water is not suitable even for washing or bathing . even we come to know that it is even not suitable for living organisms which live in that river day by day the number of animals, plants living inside it is decreasing . to prevent the life of these organisms and to protect the water of Yamuna from being spoilt we all have to do something. government should make strict rules for that . otherwise the day is not so far when we will not find even a single organism in the river.
hope for good headlines in your newspaper.

Subject : Predicament conditions of Yamuna
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of masses towards the deteriorating condition of river Yamuna. Over the years, with reckless pollution and by dumping industrial effluents, humanity has been the worst abuser of water bodies. With water pollution and global warming at all time high, the clock is slowly ticking. As the saying goes, "It's never late to change". I am afraid in sometime, damage incurred by us will be beyond repairable. With this I would like to draw your attention towards the plight of Yamuna.
Rampant pollution coupled with irregular disposal methods have damaged the Yamuna to a great extent. Dumping industrial toxins affects the salinity and pH of the river, meaning not only aquatic flora and fauna are at risk of dying but the water essentially becomes inconsumable. Nonetheless, people persist in adding to the damage, bathing their livestocks in water, washing clothes and submerging idols and so on. I request the local authorities to probe into this matter and carry out required sanitation procedures and apply stringent rules for the same.
Yours sincerely,
Shyam
