we need to cover boxes l, therefore, we find surface area.
formula for cuboid = 2(lb + bh + lh)
= 2(40 × 50 + 50 × 30 + 40 × 30)
= 2(2000 + 1500 + 1200)
= 2(4700)
=9400 cm^2
formula for cube = 6a^2
= 6(40 × 40)
= 6(1600)
= 9600 cm^2
therefore, we need more paper to cover cube box as 9600 is greater than 9400

Surface area of cube is 6a^2
= 6×40×40
= 6× 1600
= 9600 cm^2
Surface area of cuboid is 2lb + 2bh + 2hl
= 2×40×50 + 2× 50×30 + 2 × 30×40
=2×2000+2×1500+2×1200
=4000+3000+2400
=7000+2400
=9400 cm^2
9600>9400 So more paper is required to cover cube.
