                                             A Friend in Need

By P. Sudarshan

Our country has a dire need for homes for abandoned children on the street. There are several NGOs and thousands of orphanages around the country but there is always a dearth for these homes. Being an educated and patriotic Indian I want to do my bit helping the innocent kids grow to be healthy individuals.

I have a piece of land given by my grandfather and I am starting a small home. I presently have 10 children who will start living there from this week. I have a teacher who is going to come everyday to teach the children. The children are of the age groups 6-10. A local restaurant has promised to send free lunch everyday and I have tied up with a local school for their voluntary contribution towards educating these children. A pediatrician will visit the home every sunday to ensure that the kids are healthy and they get their required doses of vaccination.

I am expecting that the home will be a haven for the children and they will grow naturally with the other children in to healthy individuals.

A good intention

By Mamta Prakash

It is sad that many children in our country have to spend their days on pavements because they do not have a secure place to stay in.

Being abandoned by their family, these children are helpless.

Although, there are several orphanages in India, there still exists the need for many more.

I would like to transform by ancestral home at Malda into an orphanage.

The building is vacant for many years and I think this is the best way to utilize the space.

The building if renovated properly will make an excellent home for the kids, as it is located in the lap of nature.

Anyone who wants to donate some fund can mail to me at [email protected].
