Dear Diary
You will not believe what I am going to tell you today. I happened to go to the mall yesterday and was suddenly reminded of my friend Shylaja with whom I used to frequent the mall. I was thinking how it has been four years since I saw her. Just then, I heard someone calling out Anju just like how she used to call me. At first, I thought I was imagining. But, I heard the call a second time and turned back. There was no known face around. I turned back to continue my shopping. Suddenly, I felt someone pat me from behind. I turned back and could not believe my eyes. My dear friend Shylaja was standing right in front of me.
For a minute, I just could not react! Then, suddenly I hugged her tight and asked her when she reached Coimbatore. She said that she had landed last night and had come to the mall to buy something for her cousin’s kid’s birthday party tomorrow evening. I asked her what her plans for the day were and she said she was free the whole day. So, we decided to spend the whole day together. We did a whole lot of shopping and even bought identical salwars. Then, we went to the food court and had our lunch. From there, we moved on to watch the latest movie of our favorite film star. I requested her to stay the night with me and she readily agreed. So, we went to her house and she packed a pair of outfits to change into that night and for the next morning. We came over to my place and since I was staying alone, we cooked our dinner and stayed up late night chatting. Finally, she left today around 10:00 am after breakfast. I was so happy and have never been so in the past couple of years.
