Add dilute Iodine solution to the food item to test whether it contains starch.A blue-black colour indicates that the food item contains Strach.
Using a dropper add two drops of solution of copper sulphate and ten drops of solution of caustic soda to the food item .A violet colour indicates presence of proteins in the food item.
