Given :  p(r)=3/8

p(r/s)=3/5

p(s/r)=2/7

To Find :  p(s)

Solution:

p(s/r)  means probability of s when r already had happened

p(s/r) = p( r ∩ s)/ p(r)

2/7  = p( r ∩ s)/ (3/8)

=> p( r ∩ s) = (2/7) (3/8)

=>  p( r ∩ s) = 3/28

p(r/s)  means probability of r when s already had happened

p(r/s) = p( r ∩ s)/ p(s)

=> 3/5 = (3/28)/p(s)

=> p(s)  = (3/28) * (5/3)

=>  p(s)  =  5/28

p(s) = 5/28
