You have boasted to your friends that you can ride your bicycle at 30 kph (km per hour) over a 30 km race comprising two 15 km laps. However, when you finish the first lap, your coach tells you that your average speed so far is only 15 kph. How fast must you ride to bring your average speed up to 30 kph.?

Explanation:

you should have gone at=30km/h for 15 laps of 30 km

so you were supposed to take only 1 hour to finish the race

you finished 1 lap with =15km/h

1 lap=2km

2km at 15km/h

time taken=2/15 hour=8mins

remaining time =52mins

distance to cover =14laps of 28 kms

speed required =28km/52mins

=28÷52×60km/hr

=32.3077km/hr
