You: I am extremely sorry sir; you see I just crossed the zebra crossing; the brake of my scooter is loose; that’s why it took time to stop.
Policeman: Why were you riding so fast?
You: Sir, actually I am getting late for my final exam! I thought I would manage to cross before the yellow light; but I was wrong.
Policeman: Since you are getting late for exam, I won’t stop you. But in future be careful.
