Huge storm clouds started to appear in the sky as we set out. We were almost sure that there would be a downpour soon. Since we had not gone too far, we decided to go back and take a few umbrellas. When we reached home, my mother put her hand into her bag to take the keys to open the door. But, she could not find the key bunch.
We suddenly realized that in our hurry to leave, we had latched the door from inside and shut it with the keys inside. Looking around, we saw a thin strip of metal wire. My brother took it and put it inside the keyhole. He kept turning it like a key to release the latch. Finally, after 10 minutes he was successful and we went in to take the umbrellas and the keys. When we came out and locked the door properly, the sky had cleared up and it was sunny once again!
Huge storm clouds started to appear in the sky as we set out. We were travelling to visit my aunt who lived in the
countryside and we were looking forward to seeing her. We stopped to put petrol in the car and get some snacks for the journey. Then, we continued driving towards my aunt's house. Soon, it started raining heavily so we had to drive very slowly, because we could hardly see the road in front of us. The other cars on the motorway were driving slowly, too.
Just then, thick smoke started coming out of the engine and the car
stopped. We put on the hazard lights and managed to roll into the emergency lane.
We were very upset and scared. We didn'twant to be stranded in the middle of a storm on the motorway. Luckily, I had brought my mobile phone and we called a breakdown service.
They arrived quickly and took us all the way to my aunt's house. We were very glad to be safe and sound.
