Dear Friend,

Lots of love from me to you and your family ! Last day I read a poem named 'A Tiger in the Zoo'. So I wanted to share about the poem with you. The poem described how the tiger was kept in a cage which completely changed the mentality of the tiger. We know that the tigers are known for their braveness. But seeing a tiger in a cage, I felt as if the tiger was helpless and all its braveness has gone in vain.

Answer:

Dear Friend:

I hope this letter finds you in great health and spirits. I am writing this letter to share with you my anguish over the problem of innocent animals kept in zoos. These animals are living a poor, wretched life.

The tiger in the poem Tiger in the Zoo feels slave in the concrete cell. It feels like a prisoner. It misses its freedom in the forest where it should be lurking in the shadows; stalking its prey in the long grass near water hole, where deer come to drink water and where it lurks to pounce on them.

It can only walk a few steps in the cage. Many visitors come to see it but it does not pay any heed to them. It is given stale meat which it does not relish. Every moment it lives with a yearning to be free.

At night after everyone retires, it can only look at the stars from its cage. I feel the zoos should be banned. If people are curious to see these animals, they should go to animal seeing safaris. How will men feel if they are caged? I hope you agree with my views. Do write me back expressing your take on the matter. That’s all. The rest is fine. Parnam to uncle and aunt.

Yours affectionately,

Parveen
