Dear Diary:
I am so happy today! I have stood first in the 'Folk Dance Competition’ by Lions Club. My picture with the trophy appeared in all the local newspapers. It has filled me with new confidence. I have received so many compliments from all. My parents, grandparents, and teachers are over the moon. Achieving this success was not easy.
I am the happiest of all. This happiness of hard-earned achievement is thousand times sweeter than shallow pleasures of distractions. My parents were the happiest. I promise to myself that I will always try to be the best in all my academics and co-curricular activities. Last but not the least, I thank God for this success. That’s all dear diary. Good night.

Dear Diary,
Today was the main day of the inter-school folk dance competition. I also participated in it. I was a bit nervous with so many people watching me but by the time I was midway, all of my nerves got over me and I was the same person I was, comfortable in my own world. After the performance, my friends and teachers congratulated me on the superb dance and even our school's principal also congratulated me for representing our school. The results will be out tomorrow so until then, I'll have to simply wait and hope for the best.

Dear Diary,
So, today the results were declared for the dance competition. I did not win the first prize but I did win the second prize for the overall best performance. I had not expected it but it was a relief to make my school proud. My principal was so happy with me, she expressed her happiness and gratitude for making everyone proud. I feel like I am in heaven. My whole day was great because of this.
When I got home, my parents were so proud of me. We celebrated within the family by having a feast of all my favorite foods.
It was a good day.
