The slippers become slippery because their grip gets rubbed.
This happen because there is more friction between the floor and slippers
Due to this friction the grip gets vanished
This happens with vehicle tyres also

It is because they lose their irregularities and disturbances due to friction and opposition caused by surrounding (ex) roads,walls. And many other architect. So this makes the slippers to slide and glide while they have lost their friction... That is those disturbances and irregularities seen at the molecular level
