Open defecation is unhygienic and spreads diseases

Explanation:

Open defecation is the practice of defecating in the open areas and not in toilets. Poverty and lack of sanitation are the main cause of such unhealthy habits.

India is working on becoming open defecation free by constructing toilets in rural areas which were deprived of such sanitation facilities until now.

Open defecation is unhygienic, pollutes the surroundings and causes many health problems like diarrhea and other digestive tract infections, hepatitis, typhoid, polio, cholera, trachoma, etc.
