Reduce means to reduce the use of things that are non biodegradable.Such as using paper bag instead of plastic bags.

reduce means to reduce the amount of wastage of resources for eg the impure water that comes out from our water purifier while obtaining pure water is thrown instead it can be used for watering of plants . So, in this way we are reducing the amount of wastage of water
