I was very excited ans well as nervous. I had my dialogues perfectly memorized. I was confident that I would do well. Alas! on the day of the Annual function, it was all a caos. When I got on the stage I could hear nothing but my heart pounding away. My hands were shaking badly and a bead of sweat trickled down my forehead. I wished I could just leave the stage and go somewhere where the people's eye won't follow me. The curtains raised and I got on the stage. when my turn came to deliver my speech, I couldn't remember anything. The senior students understood my situation and they tried to make me remember my lines by prompting under their breath. I caught a few words and blurted out a meaningless sentence. The audience ware laughing hard. I wished the ground would just open and swallow me. I couldn't bear the embarrassment. My teacher, after a few minutes, called me and I got off the stage. Of course, none of my teachers were happy with my performance, but they were too busy helping the other students. So I melted with the crowd and went away. Yeah I was sad. But its okay,I will try to do better next time. I can't forget my first speech competition ever, even though I was so badly want to!
