Dear Diary ,
- Today 's academic year was over and my summer holidays had just begun. After, all the ups and downs and the tests and stress, here I was on my way to village where my grandparents lived. The trip was quite brief. In about four hours, at approximately 5 am, we had reached my grandparents' place. The town was very peaceful and very quiet. I could hear the chirping noise of the cricket was and saw the stray dogs were running around happily, and surprisingly they looked healthier than our city bred domesticated dogs! Soon my grandparents welcomed me and my parents. Their face was wrinkling and crackling, but as they embraced me in their loving and caring arms, a warmth rose in my heart.
- My grandparents were very excited to see us, especially me. Its not often that I get a chance to visit them or spend time with them. I mostly interact with them only on social media and they are not too happy about it. They always prefer that I be with them in person and spend more time. As soon as the greetings were over, my grandmother told us to take a seat and that breakfast would be ready in an hour. In the meanwhile, I decided to go for a walk and when I headed out I saw the sun slowly rise, the large glowing sphere rose slowly into the dull morning sky. Casting sunbeams in every direction while it illuminated the small town.
- I looked out at the glass panes as the colors of the rising sun shifted over time. Making the sky clearer as it went up and up into the sky, and I went on. The picturesque beauty of the path was really awesome to see. The paths were surrounded by ponds and green fields. There were also green plants in the on either side of the fields. I saw the farmers ploughing their field. I could feel the cool breeze of the morning as I walked along the road. While you walk down the road, I could hear the singing of different birds among the big trees. The cuckoo 's pleasant voice was the most delightful to hear!
- As I was tired I decided to take nap and woke up at 8 am. My Grandma was preparing a delicious south Indian dish known as "Appam" and "Egg Curry". The smell of the food made all our mouths water & finally what felt like an eternity, was over & my grandma came out of the kitchen with a mud pot in her hand & plate full of appams, and she walked over to us. My grandfather too sat with us for breakfast. He was asking about my school and exams and we discussed so many things. My grandmother served her delicious Appam and Egg curry and I could not resist another round of her delicious food that I ended up having so many Appams.
- Once the breakfast was done, I saw my grandmother take some food and serve the dogs on the street. I was touched by her kindness and care for animals. Then she came and spend time with me, chatting, telling tales and folklore, and so many such interesting things that I do not get to hear otherwise! But they were all amazing and incredible things! Today was a great day.
Good Night Diary!
