When we change a speech from direct to indirect, several things are altered.
We no more quote a person and speak it from the perspective of the speaker.
The tense must change into past tense.
Apart from it, there are no quotation marks and the credibility changes from the erstwhile person to the speaker.
In most sentences, ‘that’ is added, though in interrogative and imperative sentences it may differ.
