Last week, while returning back from office, I met a group of teenage boys torturing a small stray dog. The dog was already bleeding from the leg but the boys continued to kick it, forcing the dog to try to run away only to be blocked by the other boys. This running around in circles made the dog cower in fear and pain. I was angry to see them torture a small animal which obviously hadn't done them any wrong. So, I told them off, making sure to take their names and then took the dog to the nearby vet hospital, making sure to stop the bleeding.
Coming out of the hospital, it made me think why such incidents happen. We all call ourselves educated but seem to not care about what is happening in the world. Even if we seem to know all about it, we never seem to remember to use our knowledge when the right time comes. What are we keeping the knowledge we learn and when are we planning to use them when not now? Cruelty to animals is one form of torture that may not be upon humans but which is the same as hurting your fellow living beings. This is one thing we need to avoid and even prevent, for even animals have feelings and can be hurt. Let's all work hard towards changing the world for a better future, not only for us but also for every living creature.
