If I have been spotted by one of my inmates and he would ask me to trade something then I would give him some tokens for extra food because this will make him my friend and a partner in crime. Whereas, money is a great substitute but it has a drawback that he will become greedy at some point and will start asking for more. This will create a huge tension and lack of trust between us. Money will also make him dependent on me in a way, which I would not be able to fulfill all the times.
