Day and Date & Time
Dear diary
I was so eager to tell you what happened today. Now I got the time to come in the company of my dear diary. Just guess the reason of eagerness! Ok. no more wait now, and I come straight to the point. I was chosen as one of the anchors for the Annual Function. Though we had prepared well, the real test was on the stage in front of the audience. Our mentors and the Incharge of the Function had made us easy by their guidance and wishes but a storm was raising our heartbeats.
We reached the stage. I was a bit nervous seeing the audience. Felt without words for some time. Then I saw my peer girls cheering me with thumbs high. I took a deep breath and recalled that opportunities knock only once! The first impression is the last impression! this is the time you have to prove yourself. Just remember You were chosen among many candidates for the anchoring. You have that talent- just make it today manifest before the audience today. Do every bit to bring laurels to your mentors, school, and everybody who loves you..and dear diary, I got such a morale boost up from such thoughts that the audience did not have to wait for long to clap for me. Such a wonderful anchor I proved that day that my mentor-team of maa'ms hugged me after the annual function was over...I was the talk of the hour at that time....everyone who came across just praised me.
My parents were also there. My father appeared overwhelmed but my mother seemed unimpressed. I reached my mom and asked about my performance. She said ..thik hi tha..(it was just OK). I tried to show that I was Ok with the comments of my mother but dear Diary, she is my mother- she quickly realized the matter...suddenly she burst into laughter..embraced me to her bosom, kissed me on the forehead and said, " I am so proud of you ...You made my day coming here..and salute to your anchoring today!"
Dear Diary.....for me, it was the best compliment of the day.
Now, it is already over the scheduled time. Retiring to bed now.
