Rally on Save Environment
Our natural environment and surrounding which provides us with everything that we ever need. We get air, water, food, and everything else from the environment. And this environment is being ruined by humans for their own selfish needs.
Orchids the International School, located in Pradhikaran, today undertook a project for its students about the safe and hygienic disposal of garbage. Under this project, our students learnt about the segregation of dry and wet garbage and separation of plastic waste at the source, the need for special means of disposal of electronic waste items, about how wet waste can be turned into organic fertilizer, about how electricity is being generated from wet waste in some large cities and about the Swach Bharat Mission.
The students of Grade 5 and 6 conducted a rally to spread the awareness of the program of Garbage Segregation started by the school. The students made umpteen banners and posters and displayed the same. They went for a rally in the sectors 25 and 27 of Akurdi Pradhikaran and chanted slogans and jingles to spread the message far and wide. The students visited the houses on the way and also spoke to passersby’s. They went to shops and educated the public about the correct way to dispose of garbage. The students spoke with the sweepers on the roads and thanked them for the job they do to keep the city clean. They walked the area for nearly 2 hours spreading the messages. The people were listening to the students eagerly and they also promised to help them achieve the goal.
After the rally got over the council members, along with the vice principal, campus in-charge and the allotted teachers visited the house of the comparator of this area. The head girl, Miss. Sanjivani Jat handed over a letter to the cooperator requesting her to ensure that all the people in her constituency follow what the children have started in the school. They also requested her to make it mandatory for the people to segregate the garbage at the initial points. The cooperator was pleased with the efforts the students have taken and congratulated them. She also promised to work with them to achieve this mission of a Clean City with her entire team.
