A man had a flat tire and pulled over next to an insane asylum. He took the 4 lug nuts off the wheel and placed them in the hubcap. Next, he replaced the wheel and tire with a spare from the trunk.
Meanwhile, one the patients at the asylum was watching him through a chain link fence.
While reaching for the lug nuts to affix the wheel, the man accidentally knocked the the lug nuts out of the hubcap and all 4 went into the drain.
Exasperated and not knowing what to do, he looked over at the patient and said: “What are you looking at? Can’t you see I’m in a terrible bind here?
The patient said, “I have an idea that will get you back on the road.”
“Yeah, what is it?” asked the stranded driver.
“Easy. Take one lug nut off of the other 3 wheels and put them on the other wheel. That will hold you until you get to an auto parts store.”
“Wow!” exclaimed the driver, “I don’t think you’re crazy after all.”
