If a 28O meter long train moving with a speed of 108 km/h crosses a platform in 12 seconds, and a man crosses the same platform in 10 seconds, then what is the speed of the man?

Fly to London with Vistara!

First we have to find length of the platform because if we find the length of the platform we can easily find speed of the man because time is already given which is 10 second .

Now to calculate length of the platform we have to use the formula

time =distance/velocity

Here distance is the length of the platform (assume L)+length of train

Velocity of the train =108×5/18=30m/s

From the above equation

12=(280+L)/30

L=80 m

Therfore we find lengthof the platform and time is already given 10 s

Speed of the man = 80/10=8 m/s
