Just try to make him take interest in world take him to the places where teens usually go but never let him sit on bad environment.

I would tell him that, " Your good in your studies , but if don't use it, then what's the use of your knowledge?, no one will admire your knowledge. So, I'm telling you to stop being shy and use your knowledge well "
