Today I am very happy as my granddaughter gave me the novel 'Kashi Yatra',the most sought after gift to me. A few days back I was an illiterate adult .I could not read and write. The novel 'Kashi Yatra 'was appearing as a serial in the Kannada weekly Katamveera.I had great interest in the novel.

So my granddaughter would read the episode of the story to me. I also listened with the great concentration as I identified myself with the novels main character,the old lady. I myself could not read.so I felt embarrassed. I determined to learn Kannada alphabet. It was my granddaughter who taught me to read and write. It was my granddaughter who gave me the novel. Now I can read independently. I feel elated as I can read.
