Hello there, in order to determine the genotype of the given species you first need to clarify whether it is homozygous or heterozygous based on presence of Dominant or recessive allels.

Let us assume "R" for red and "r" for contrasting color, let's say white

  • Homo dominant: RR and RR
  • Hetero dominant: Rr and Rr

Since R is capitalised both will give rise to red as you have mentioned

The cross between

  1. Homo dominant: RR x RR = RR, RR, RR, RR
  2. Hetero dominant: Rr x Rr = RR, Rr,Rr, rr
