 - 3y = 4 - 2x \\  - 3y = 4  - 2( - 1) \\  - 3y = 4 + 2 \\ y =  \frac{6}{3}  \\ y = 2
now here concentrate on -3y. when it goes to the right side the negative sign is changed into positive. but my maths calculator is not showing that. see in attachment n tell which one is right one.

-3y = 4 - 2x

⇒ -3y = 4 - (2*x)

⇒ -3y = 4 - (2*-1)

⇒ -3y = 4 - (-2)

⇒ -3y = 4 + 2

⇒ -3y = 6

⇒ -y = 6/3

⇒ -y = 2

⇒ y = -2

in your own calculation, you wrote:

-3y = 4 + 2

Here (-3y) is in LHS.

In the next step, you wrote:

y = 6/3

So, in this step, you made a mistake.

You removed the (-) sign from 'y', whereas 'y' is still there in the LHS.

So, your calculator is correct.

hope you understand..
