Given: Zach keeps his pet chameleon Pinky in a terrarium .  There's sand in the bottom of the terrarium that reaches a height of 8 cm . base is 20 x 50 cm.

new terrarium  base is 25 by 64 cm

To find : How deep will the sand be in the new terrarium

Solution:

Volume   = l * b * h

sand in the bottom of the terrarium that reaches a height of 8 cm

20 cm x 50 cm base

Volume of sand   = 50 * 20 * 8   cm³

The base of the new terrarium is 25   by 64   centimeters.

Volume of sand  = 25 * 64 * h   cm³

h = height of sand

25 * 64 * h  = 50 * 20 * 8

=> h = 5 cm

Height of sand  in new terrarium = 5 cm

Height of sand  in old  terrarium = 8 cm

Sand in new terrarium is 8 - 5 = 3 cm deep from old terrarium
