As the world becomes more and more quality conscious, manufacturers that produce zero defect goods perform better in the marketplace, both in terms of goodwill as well as profitability. Unlike in the old days, quality has become more important than quantity. This has led to setting up of national and international standards.
In any manufacturing organisation, while the top management exhibits total commitment to zero defect planning, the management in the production centres are equally committed to this abiding principle in today's business. Besides, there are the Quality Control personnel who act as the eyes and ears of the organisation in ensuring that stringent quality standards are maintained and end-product thoroughly checked before being sent to the point of sale.
