The time immediately following the Question Hour has come to be known as "Zero Hour". It starts at around 12 noon and members can, with prior notice to the Speaker, raise issues of importance during this time.

In Rajya Sabha, total number of requests is not allowed to exceed seven on a single day. The total time allocated for Zero Hour is 30 minutes wherein a member gets three minutes to raise the issue. The session should be completed before 1 pm.

The zero hour refers to the time interval between 12 pm and 1 pm in Indian parliament. This hour is known as question hour because the fellows of Indian Parliament raise the questions regarding the major issues in the country. The zero hour is between a question hour and business hour of the Parliament. It is known as zero hour because it starts from 12 pm. Even though there are no rules to follow zero hour, the parliament associates generally use this one hour to discuss important issues.
