The average speed is equal to 100 kilometre per hour

Explanation:

  • The formula of average speed of a particular object is given below.

Average  speed = \frac{total distance covered}{total time taken}

Given,

  • Total distance covered is equal to 250 kilometres.
  • The total time taken between 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. is equal to 2 hours 30 minutes

Hence the average speed is equal to \frac{250km}{2.5hr}

= 250km/hr.

  • Average speed is useful in determination of  the time required for completion of a particular journey
