ZIFT, zygote intrafallopian transfer, and GIFT, gamete intrafallopian transfer.are both treatments for infertility. Similar to IVF, these procedures are also used to retrieve eggs from the woman and implanting them again after the required modifications. During ZIFT, the zygotes or fertilized eggs are inserted 24 hours after mixing. Whereas in GIFT, eggs and sperm are inserted immediately after mixing. In this case, the fertilization does not happen in the petri dish but in the body. However, in ZIFT, eggs are put in fallopian tubes and not uterus.
