Answer:

: Zinc reacts with silver nitrate to form zinc nitrate and it gives silver as the byproduct during or at the end of the reaction. This reaction occurs because zinc is more reactive than silver which gives raise to the zinc nitrate and this in turn produces silver.

The unbalanced chemical reaction can be written as follows:

Zn + AgNO3 → Zn(NO3)2 + Ag

There are 6 oxygen atoms on the product side and 3 oxygen atoms on reactant side. Hence, multiply AgNO3 by 2. It balances nitrogen atoms also on both the sides, that is 2 nitrogen atoms.

The reaction can be written as follows:

Zn + 2 Ag NO3 → Zn(NO3)2 + Ag

But, now silver atoms are unbalanced. By multiplying silver atoms by 2, the number of silver atoms on both the sides get balanced. Now all the atoms on reactant and product sides are balanced. The balanced reaction is as follows:

Zn(s) + 2AgNO3(aq) → Zn(NO3)2(aq) + 2Ag(s)

Answer:

Zn(No3)2 + Ag = Zn(No3)2 + Ag (as zinc is more reactive then silver so no change will take place)

place.

b) Zn + AgNo3 = Zn(No3)2 + Ag-skeletal equation

Zn + 2AgNo3 = Zn(No3)2 + 2Ag- balanced equation (as zinc is more reactive then silver.)
