There are many people who do not have the courage to speak of some things.
Like what they are thinking about or what they feel
They take some other way of sharing there pains to others. Some take as music or some as poetry.
So yes poetry is a way of escaping personality. The things the poet could not say in words he wrote it as a symphony on a paper and showed it to the world

To some extent this is true. most of the time a poet put his pain and feelings in to words in the form of poetry , some times they are so alone that could not resist more and put his loneliness in the words.
But there are some exceptional poets too that take poetry as what they say a challenge and try to inspire the world with their ideas and ideology and motivates them to do a specific work.
