GIVEN:

X+ P is a factor of

TO FIND:

The value of P in the given polynomial P(X).

SOLUTION:

Given that X+ P is a factor of the given polynomial P(x).

Since X+ P is a factor of P(x).

X+P=0

Put x=-p in the given polynomial we get

-44p-48=0

-44p=48

p=-12/11

Therefore the value of p in the given polynomial is p=-12/11
