let no. of deer =x

grazing = x/2

remaining= x/2

playing = 3/4*x/2=3x/8

rest = 9

according to question

x=x/2+3x/8+9

=x=4x+3x+72/8

=x=7x+72/8

=8x=7x+72

=8x-7x=72

=x=72

so number of deer = 72
