Answer:

Jet streams are relatively narrow bands of strong wind in the upper levels of the atmosphere

Explanation:

Jets streams play a key role in determining the weather because they usually separate colder air and warmer air.

singhakansha445: how are Jet Streams caused??
Anonymous: Jet streams form when warm air masses meet cold air masses in the atmosphere. The Sun doesn't heat the whole Earth evenly. That's why areas near the equator are hot and areas near the poles are cold.

Answer:

1) A jetstream is a a narrow band of strong predominantly westerly air current which encircles the globe several miles above the earth.

2) They are caused due to the meeting of warm air with cold air in the atmosphere, as Sun heats the earth unevenly

3) Uses are:

  • It plays a significant role in Weather forecasting
  • It saves time and energy in air travels. ie. When we move along the direction of jetstream , it will help the plane/flight move faster

I don't think it has any other uses
