Answers
Soon after marriage, Gangu was living a happily married life with Gomti. However, in less than six months of marriage, Gomti leaves him and goes away to an unknown place. She did so with a heavy heart because she realized that she was carrying the baby of her previous husband.
Although the villagers gossiped about Gomti’s departure, Gangu continued to love her deeply and had high regard for her. This made him search for her and bring her back home from a hospital in Lucknow. He also considered the baby as his own.
Explanation:
Gangu left his job after arguing with his master because he made the decision to marry Gomti who was perceived as a poor widow in the partrichial society. . Gangu is viewed as an embodiment of goodness reflected when he accepts Gomti and her child selflessly after learning the child was not his. He notes that the child was a gift from God.
