Bhagat Singh is known as Shaheed-e-Azam because of his unforgettable sacrifices for this country.

He had been hanged  on 23rd March 1931 charged with the Lahore Conspiracy Case. No magistrate was willing to oversee the case. He became the symbol of the youth awakening in India.

People had nothing but reverence and gratitude towards him. So he was given the name "Shaheed-e-Azam".
