1- The size of colloidal particles is less than inm, while the size of poi present in an ordinary filter paper is larger than inm .Hence a colloid solution can not be separated by filtration.

2- A mixture of two miscible liquids having a difference in their boiling points more than 25°C can be separated by the method of simple distillation.
